What a swivel actually changes
A swivel thumb ring rotates freely on its axis as you open and close the shear. Your thumb no longer has to twist to stay in the ring, which lets the whole arm settle into a lower, more natural position. The blades cut exactly as before — the difference is entirely in how your body feels doing it.

The Vasco is our dedicated slicing edge, and it is cleverer than most. The dynamic blade is intentionally blunted through its first two-thirds so it travels through the hair with almost no resistance for smooth slide and slice cutting — then turns fully sharpened at the tip, so you can move straight into clean point cutting without reaching for another pair. Will they cut differently to my current X Series shear?
No. The blades, steel and geometry are unchanged — the swivel only changes how the thumb ring moves, so the cut feels familiar from the first section.
