A sharp edge is only half the job. A true service restores how the blades meet, ride and close — that’s where the feel comes from.

Blades and tips are examined up close so we see every chip, roll and worn spot before a single stone touches the steel.

Stripped down, worn parts replaced

Pivot, screw, bearings, bumper — we take them apart and swap out anything tired. We stock nearly every part, so most repairs happen in-house.

Edges sharpened

Each blade is brought back to a keen, even edge along its full length — tip to pivot — so it cuts cleanly anywhere on the blade.

Sett reset, fresh ride-line

We restore the set that makes the blades meet at a single moving point, and add a fresh ride-line so they glide over each other rather than grind.

Reassembled, aligned, test-cut

Put back together, aligned and cut-tested — and we keep going until they cut clean. Only then do they go back in the box.

A few habits keep that day-one feel for longer.

Every 6 months

Service at least twice a year. Heavy daily use? Sooner. A regular service keeps small problems from becoming worn parts.

No overnight Barbicide

Never leave scissors soaking overnight. Disinfect, then rinse, dry and put them away.

Wipe & oil

Wipe dry after every use and oil the pivot regularly — hair and moisture are what dull an edge fastest.

Do you sharpen scissors that aren’t Quartered Steels?+

Yes — we service any brand. Every pair gets the same full treatment and the same minimum of 45 minutes on the bench. It’s £35 a pair for other brands and £28 a pair for Quartered Steels scissors — our thank-you to the people who cut with our steel.

What if my scissors need more than a standard service?+

If we find something that needs extra work, we message you with the price before we do anything. You decide — there are never surprise charges.

How does multi-pair pricing work?+

Book 2 or more pairs and save £5 on each; book 4 or more and save £10 on each — so £30 / £25 a pair for other brands, or £23 / £18 a pair for Quartered Steels scissors. It’s applied automatically in your basket — no code needed.

How do I send them?+

Wrap them securely in a case and post them to our Belfast workshop with a note: your name, return address, email, phone and a line about the issue. The full address is above.

How do I get them back?+

Once serviced, we return them by next-day courier, safely packed. If you’re local to us, you can collect — or we’ll drop them off.

How often should I get them serviced?+

At least every six months. If you’re cutting all day, every day, sooner will keep them feeling their best.

I’m a salon or on a trade account — is there a better price?+

Yes. Trade account holders pay less for servicing. Get in touch and we’ll set you up.
